Invisalign
Straighter teeth without metal braces — clear, custom, and almost invisible.
Straight Teeth Without the Metal
If you've been thinking about straightening your teeth but the idea of metal brackets and wires just isn't for you, Invisalign is probably the answer. The aligners are clear, custom-made for your teeth, and so subtle that most people won't notice you're wearing them.
Best part: they're removable. So you can eat what you want, drink your morning coffee, and brush and floss like normal. No food restrictions. No awkward photos. No metal mouth.
What Invisalign Can Fix
Invisalign works for a wide range of orthodontic concerns. It's a great fit for:
- Crowded teeth
- Gaps and spacing issues
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Mild to moderate alignment problems
- Adults who want to straighten their teeth without metal braces
- Teens looking for a more comfortable, less visible alternative
Some severe bite issues are still better treated with traditional braces. Dr. Carroll will let you know honestly which option is the right fit for your situation.
How Invisalign Works
The whole process is straightforward and well-proven. Here's how it goes:
- 1Dr. Carroll starts with a careful evaluation of your teeth and bite. We take digital scans and X-rays of your mouth and use them to map out a custom treatment plan from start to finish.
- 2Your aligners are made by Invisalign — a series of clear plastic trays, each one slightly different from the last. Each tray gently moves your teeth a small amount toward the final position.
- 3You wear each set of aligners for about 1 to 2 weeks (Dr. Carroll will tell you exactly), then switch to the next one. You'll wear them about 20 to 22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink, and clean your teeth.
- 4Every 6 to 8 weeks, you come in for a quick check so Dr. Carroll can make sure your treatment is on track and give you the next batch of aligners.
- 5When you're done, your teeth are right where you want them — and you'll get a retainer to help keep them there.
Why People Love Invisalign
After working with hundreds of Invisalign patients, here's what we hear over and over:
- “Nobody knew I was wearing them.”
- “I could still eat the foods I love.”
- “Brushing and flossing was easy because I just took them out.”
- “Way more comfortable than I expected.”
- “Fewer office visits than my friend with braces.”
- “I can’t believe how fast it went.”
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Most patients finish in less than a year — some in as little as six months. Mild cases can be even faster. More complex cases may take 12 to 18 months. Dr. Carroll will give you a personalized timeline at your consultation.
Will people notice I'm wearing aligners?
Almost never. The aligners are clear, custom-fitted to your teeth, and practically invisible. Most people don't realize you're wearing them unless you point it out.
How often do I need to wear them?
About 20 to 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush your teeth. The more consistent you are with wearing them, the faster you'll see results.
Is Invisalign painful?
It's not painful, but you may feel some pressure or mild discomfort for a day or two when you switch to a new set of aligners. That's normal — it means the aligners are doing their job. Most patients find it much more comfortable than traditional braces.
